Experion PKS - PMD
The Experion PKS with PMD Controller is a process control system that is based on the PMD technology. The PMD technology enables a single automation system to control a production plant’s continuous and batch processes, machines and drives.
Alarms
Alarm and event detection, management and reporting provided by the PMD Server.
Application Design
Creation of automation system’s structure and application definitions as graphic hierarchical structures, at the Design Module (DM).
Block Execution Environment
Process equipment connected through a fieldbus or an I/O highway to the system is controlled in Block Execution Environment located in the PMD Controller or in the XPR Process Module.
Communication
Data transfer inside the automation system and between other systems.
Hardware
Hardware elements like power supplies, electronic cards, etc.
Process I/O
Process interfacing via Process Module I/O, Extended I/O, I/OWeb or Fieldbus
Servers
System data repository and data transfer routing and alarm and event handling, among other things are provided by the PMD Server. Remote User Interface is established by the Remote HMI Server (RHS).
System
Common System elements like System Network, System Backup, etc.
Third Party
Third Party products
User Interface
User Interface is provided by HMIWeb (Human Machine Interface). HMIWeb functions as a uniform environment for process operating and process data presentation for various system processes.
