Honeywell’s Printing Solutions consists of four main areas:
Printa Production Management covers the whole printing production process and provides management, supervision and reporting tools for all phases of the production process Sales, Pre-press, Printing, Mailroom, Distribution, Maintenance, Warehouse. The system provides production information in real time to all involved parties and functions as an open information backbone for the whole plant and company.
Printa Press Drive & Control provides the complete automation for printing presses including drives, pre-setting, quality controls as well as startup and shutdown automation. Auxiliaries (e.g. blanket washers, register controls, mailroom, etc.) are integrated in the system and their functionality is accessible using Printa’s ergonomic quality keyboard and touch screen – providing a single window to the process. Power supplies and drives can also be included in a Printa delivery.
Printa Press Drive & Control integrates with Printa Production Management. Production plans (e.g. impositions) are created in Printa Production Management and transferred automatically to Printa Press Drive & Control. The systems also cooperate for informing the printer (and the whole plant) on the job progress, for providing production and maintenance reports.
A press investment is made with a planned life span of 15-25 years. This has always a crucial item in the design of Honeywell’s automation solutions, which ensures smooth upgradeability and enables the printer to keep his/her system always up-to-date, for the full life-time of the press.
Printa Quality Controls provides online closed loop controls for printing presses for register and color control in order to maintain the homogeneity of the printed product and cut down on material costs. Register controls include color and cutoff control. Color control maintains the printed color densities within given tolerances. Both systems integrate with Printa Press Drive & Control and use the same user interfaces.
ProWeb Web Monitoring System is an advanced recording and analysis tool for improving productivity. The system records the images of the moving paper web at selected positions in the printing press and provides valuable data for analyzing web breaks. The high speed cameras enable the system to be used also as a trouble-shooting tool.
Honeywell Printing Solutions’ products are available for new press installations and they have successfully been verified with presses from all major press manufacturers as well in numerous cases where obsolete automation systems have been modernized.
