The ProfitMax® real-time optimization system is a detailed, non-linear, steady-state modeling and optimization system that provides users with a level of detail typically used for highly non-linear processes or for operations undergoing significant changes in process conditions, such as feed prices, feed properties, or catalyst activity.
Using ProfitMax in conjunction with Honeywell’s other Profit Suite applications, plants and mills are able to maximize return on process and automation investments. The system enables users to perform predictive simulation, process monitoring and troubleshooting, engineering studies, and develop regressed models for control. In addition, it assists users in planning, scheduling and operator training.
The ProfitMax solution applies to all types of process plants, runs on Windows NT and is available to multiple users simultaneously.
The ProfitMax solution can be used in conjunction with Honeywell’s Profit Optimizer and Profit Controller applications, and is a component of Honeywell’s layered approach to real-time optimization. ProfitMax can download economic values and optimization targets to Profit Optimizer or directly to Profit Controller, depending on the specific design configuration.
The ProfitMax modeling component is based on the NOVA Optimization and Modeling system from PAS Inc. The NOVA SQP algorithm is recognized as the world's premiere algorithm for large-scale open-equation-based optimization problems.
