APP
The Application Processing Platform (APP) is the TPS advanced applications platform that combines the security necessary for advanced process control and optimization with the power to run complex applications from Honeywell, customers, and third party suppliers.
File Transfer
File Transfer Access and Management is licensed on a per LCN-connected node basis.
GUS
Hiway Controllers & I/O
Hiway Controllers and I/O form a device subsystem on the Data Hiway that provides communication with Field I/O through Hiway Gateways (HG), Basic Controllers (CB), Extended Controllers (EC), and Multifunction Controllers (MC), among others.
LCN Modules
The Local Control Network is a local area network through which TDC 3000 modules communicate with each other.
Peripherals
Peripherals on a console are physically connected to only one Universal Station; however, they are generally available for use by other Universal Stations within the console, provided the Universal Station to which they are connected is operating on the LCN.
TPN Bridge
The TPN Bridge is used to reduce bandwidth on a Local Control Network (LCN) by dividing the LCN into two or more physical segments (maximum of six segments). The resulting network remains as one logical LCN, but physically as two or more LCNs.
System
UCN Controllers and I/O
The Universal Control Network (UCN) is a high speed, high security process control network. It features a 5 megabit/second, carrier band with token bus access control. It is used as the real-time redundant communications backbone for process-connected devices such as the Process Managerâ„¢ (PM), Advanced Process Manager (APM), and Logic Manager (LM). The UCN supports peer-to-peer communications for sharing data.
Universal Station
The Universal Station (US) is one of the modules on the Local Control Network (LCN). It communicates with other modules on its own LCN, with modules on remote LCNs through the Network Gateway, with process-connected devices on Universal Control Networks by way of the Network Interface Module, and with process-connected boxes on the Data Hiways by way of the Hiway Gateway.
