Hiway Care Program

The Hiway Care Program (HCP) is a multi-year site-based contract for customers with Data Hiway equipment installed. Data Hiway equipment will be transitioned to contract support after December 31, 2012.

Hiway Care is the only program with Hiway parts availability beyond 2012.  The program provides equipment support to enable incremental control system migration at the customer’s own pace. Hiway Care helps customers extend the life of TDC 2000 Data Hiway and predictably manages automation assets and maximizes ROI with flexible and scalable options. This helps ensure less downtime and lowers automation costs.

The program enrollment is open until December 31, 2012.

The program has been updated to provide customers with support choices for Data Hiway. The Hiway Care Program (update 2010) offers two levels of support:  Basic and Full. More information on each level can be found here

Baseline Health Assessment

The Baseline Health Assessment is a separate services offering outside of the Hiway Care Program.

The purpose of the Baseline Health Assessment is to evaluate the availability, operability and maintainability of Data Hiway installed assets. A detailed report from the assessment will outline critical points of attention essential for the secure operation of facilities using Data Hiway equipment. Risks related to future failures, system stability and system error recovery resolution will be reflected in the report and discussed on site with plant maintenance.

The Baseline Health Assessment is required for enrollment in the Hiway Care Full level of support.

The following activities are part of the Baseline Health Assessment:

  1. Registration of the installed equipment
  2. Communication, load and configuration analysis
  3. Inspection of the electronic components revision levels
  4. Power supplies and voltage regulators checks
  5. Inspection of the communication media
  6. Grounding and cable connection checks
  7. Visual inspection on corrosion development status
  8. Recommendations for improvements
  9. Preparation and submission of Assessment Report
