The layout of tank terminals normally deviates significantly from other process control applications with longer distances to cover. Honeywell Enraf provides a wide range of interfacing and networking solutions for the tank terminal area. The commonly used range of communications and 880 CIU units still enable the most cost-effective interfacing of field equipment. Autonomous scanning and third-party systems interfacing via Modbus can be realized, bringing yet another level of integrity and reliability to your operations.  A combination of open protocol and Honeywell Enraf communications can be realized incorporating control, communications and interfacing. This concept enables a true distributed system architecture. Open automation protocols such as Foundation Fieldbus and Modbus are supported to integrate control and automation. Analog and digital I/O completes the field interfacing capabilities of this unit. Internet protocols such as HTTP, SNTP and FTP are available to enable easy data transfer and access to critical tank and device data via virtual private networks from anywhere at any time to verify that scheduled operations are proceeding as planned.  OPC server functionality is available to provide critical tank content information to supervisory systems such as Entis, various SCADA packages and business domain or office software.
