Performance CD is a sophisticated software package to control the cross direction (CD) properties of a paper sheet, and is an application available with Honeywell’s Da Vinci Quality Control System (QCS). It includes a full suite of control algorithms and features to reduce CD profile variability by optimizing the performance of a wide range of actuator systems, and is available in two versions: traditional single variable “Performance CD Control”, and “Performance CDMultivariable”.

Performance CD allows the papermaker to improve the economics of the process through better utilization of resources and increased production efficiency. Some of the benefits are:

Performance CDOpen™ is a stand-alone system for CD control without a new scanner.  Rather, it extends the life of existing paper quality scanners and measurement systems by adding state-of-the-art CD control capabilities without the expense of a major system upgrade. By using the existing scanning sensors, Performance CDOpen provides a very cost-effective solution to significantly improve product quality and increase production.
