Honeywell supports migration of your non-Honeywell system to new Experion® Process Knowledge System (PKS) technologies. Existing methods for third-party integration are plagued by problems such as duplicate databases, duplicate (non-equivalent) alarms, and duplicate acknowledgement scenarios, just to name a few.
Honeywell’s Experion system has the capacity to discover composite point data on third-party systems and cache it without the need for building points. Distributed System Architecture (DSA) technology is used to keep the cache populated with dynamic information currently in use by Experion users and applications. Traditional approaches require data links to be permanently configured by engineering at high initial cost and continuing performance penalty, as well as posing a potential safety risk due to the increased chance of misconfiguration.
Experion can relate alarms, events, and data received through separate OPC Servers to provide DCS-style navigation to point details, group details, and associated displays—providing the full operational experience expected by Distributed Control System (DCS) users.
