Honeywell's Event Monitoring software application detects, records, and communicates operating events in a process plant. Event Monitoring is ideally suited for keeping watch on operating events that cannot be tracked with traditional control system alarms. The application allows plants to automatically highlight unusual operating conditions and notify plant staff when events occur. As a result, plants are able to reduce operating costs and improve yields with fast, effective follow-up. In addition, Event Monitoring helps plants improve regulatory compliance, reduce incidents and analyze events.
Typical uses include detecting when equipment is operating, detecting mode changes, and triggering activities such as reporting. Event Monitoring can also be used to relate results logged by other applications (for example, to relate deviations logged by Operations Monitoring with equipment outages).
Event Monitoring is included in Honeywell’s Operations Management suite of products, which is part of the Business FLEX® family of software applications. Operations Management provides a comprehensive method of setting daily operating instructions, systematically monitoring process data, and reporting shift activities.
