Event Monitoring: Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What are the other applications in Honeywell’s Operations Management suite?
A: Other applications include Operations Monitoring, which provides a more comprehensive set of tools to monitor and analyze deviations and record reasons; Honeywell LIMS, which provides laboratory information management; and Uniformance Database System, which provides the underlying database and system support for Event Monitoring.

Q: Can users see historical results?
A: Yes. Event Monitoring stores its data in a relational database, and results can be retained online for years. Standard reports are available that show summarized monitoring results for months or years.

Q: Does the e-mail option support Microsoft Exchange®?
A: Yes. The e-mail option uses the Microsoft MAPI component, which supports most versions of Exchange.

Q: What operating system does Event Management use?
A: Event Management runs on Microsoft Windows. Ad hoc analysis capabilities require Microsoft Excel 97 or a later version.

Q: What if a user currently employs Honeywell’s Uniformance PHD system for a process. Does Event Monitoring work with it?
A: Yes. Event Monitoring monitors PHD tags and can be configured to download information to PHD tags when events are detected. The same tools are used for configuration, which provides a familiar environment for users and reduces support requirements.
