The SmartCET Corrosion Data Logger is a new addition to Honeywell’s line of online, real-time corrosion monitoring products, which includes the traditional wired SmartCET multivariable transmitter with 4-20mA HART output and the OneWireless SmartCET multivariable corrosion transmitter.
The SmartCET Data Logger provides the convenience of recording corrosion measurements within internal memory. No external communication infrastructure (wired or wireless) is required. To make it a completely standalone package, the Data Logger is battery powered and uses long-life, lithium thionyl chloride batteries to reduce maintenance needs. As a result, no external power wiring is required.
Installation is simple – just install the corrosion probe, mount the Data Logger using the provided mounting bracket and connect the cable to the corrosion probe. You are ready to start logging corrosion data immediately. The Data Logger is ideal for those locations where no existing power wiring or communication wiring are present – the perfect alternative to weight loss coupons.
Data retrieval from the Data Logger is accomplished using a common handheld device such as the Honeywell MC Toolkit MCT101. Corrosion data is extracted from the Data Logger, uploaded into the handheld device in the field, and the CSV file can be easily uploaded to your PC back at the office. Users can use any available pocket PC or PDA with IrDA capability running Windows Mobile Operating System. The multifunctional handheld device also serves as the Data Logger configuration tool, and a single handheld device can service multiple Data Loggers.
The SmartCET Corrosion Data Logger features the same award-winning, patented electrochemical measurement and analysis as found in other SmartCET transmitters. Outputs include a general corrosion rate, a pitting corrosion indicator (Pitting Factor), B value (Stern-Geary constant) and the Corrosion Mechanism Indicator (CMI).
