ExPress Moisture Measurement

ExPress Moisture provides small, robust, high-speed moisture measurements to deliver Remote Distributed Sensing (RDS) between the Forming section and the Reel. The combination of fast, compact scanning CD measurements, with multiple, fixed-point MD sensors, gives the visibility required at the source of disturbances to improve process control.

By maintaining uniform moisture distribution in the cross direction, wet end to dry end, and removing water at optimal rates along the length of the machine, paper can be produced with lower draws, reduced dried-in tension variations, and more uniform shrinkage. This ultimately improves runnability on the machine, and in converting and printing operations, helping mills meet tight quality standards and improving paper machine productivity.
