For on-line optimization, Honeywell offers UniSim® Optimization. Our layered optimization solution includes on-line gain updating of advanced control and optimization applications with Profit® Bridge and steady-state optimization with the ProfitMax® real-time optimization system.
UniSim Optmization Suite R100 is now available. UniSim Optimization Suite R100 consists of a Profit Bridge UniSim socket, which connects UniSim models to Honeywell’s Profit Controller and Profit Optimizer for improved control and optimization. Profit Bridge automatically extracts model gains from a UniSim model and updates the linear gains in Profit Optimizer and Profit Controller in order to track the non-linear aspects of the process in real time. In addition, a UniSim model can now be used to provide an inferential measurement to the Profit Controller and/or Profit Optimizer (e.g. column flooding) to ensure that the plant is operating safely and optimally.
Profit Bridge software provides dynamic, non-linear control and optimization capabilities to Honeywell's Profit Controller and Profit Optimizer applications. By updating the linear models embedded in these applications with information from non-linear process models, Profit Bridge represents a high-performance alternative to large-scale, rigorous optimization systems. As an integral part of Honeywell’s layered optimization solution, Profit Bridge automatically extracts gain information from non-linear models and regularly updates the control and optimization models to reflect this information. The result is improved control and optimization benefits, since varying conditions that affect the optimum—such as changing feeds, economics and environmental factors—can be accounted for automatically.
ProfitMax is a detailed, non-linear, steady-state modeling and optimization system that provides users with a level of detail typically used for highly non-linear processes or for operations undergoing significant changes in process conditions, such as feed prices, feed properties or catalyst activity. Using ProfitMax in conjunction with Honeywell’s other Profit applications, plants and mills are able to maximize return on process and automation investments. The system enables users to perform predictive simulation, process monitoring and troubleshooting and engineering studies, and also develop regressed models for control. In addition, it assists users in planning, scheduling and operator training.
