Profit Toolkits: Frequently Asked Questions

Q:  How do the Profit Suite Toolkits fit into Profit Suite?
A: FRAC and FCCU toolkits leverage Profit Design Studio for design, development and deployment and the resulting online calculations are often controlled variables (CV) in Profit Controller. Lab Update compliments the FRAC and FCCU applications by insuring consistency with lab or analyzer data. The Crude Preheat and Coker technology toolkits compliment and enhance Profit Controller applications.

Q: How are Profit Toolkit applications licensed?
A: The Profit Toolkits are each licensed separately and follow the Profit Controller “unit” license model.  FRAC and FCCU toolkit calculations can be licensed by individual calculation (i.e. only RVP) or as the entire package.

Q: What are the platform requirements for the Profit Toolkit applications?
A: All Profit Toolkit applications (with the exception of the Polytech application) require (and include) Profit Design Studio for offline development. Profit Design Studio requires a Pentium III or equivalent processor, 512MB RAM, and Microsoft Windows NT/2000/XP operating systems. Online applications require a Pentium III or equivalent processor, 1.0 GB RAM, and Microsoft Windows NT/2000 operating systems.

The Polytech Toolkit requires an Experion PKS™ ACE node with CAB runtime components (R210 or later) for online deployment.  Additionally, CAB developer’s toolkit is necessary for modification of the base application after commissioning.
