2010 Challenges
New challenges in the process industries require ingenious ways of using the same day-to-day tools in an innovative and unique manner. Efficiency, productivity, reliability, safety and the environment are just some of the issues that need to be considered when developing new solutions. Honeywell is offering university and technical students the opportunity to share their innovative solutions in the following areas:

We look forward to receiving an abstract (300 words – see sample) as well as a full presentation on one of the above topics. Your abstract and presentation will be evaluated by a team of Honeywell experts and customers. Please note that English is the official language of the Honeywell Users’ Group Conference and both your abstract and presentation must be delivered in English.
What you can win: If you win the competition you will be invited to present your paper at the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) Honeywell Users’ Group in 2010. You will have to man your own booth during the conference. Honeywell will assist you with the layout of the booth. Your registration fee will be waived and we will pay for your travel from your university city within Europe, Middle East and Africa to the 2010 conference, as well as paying your hotel accommodation. The contest will have one winner who will be selected from among the top entries by a committee of Honeywell experts and customers. The winner will be at the conference for 4 nights and 4 days, and will have access to all of the Users’ Group social events.
Honeywell Users’ Group is the leading automation and control conference of its kind, attended by more than 150 top tier process companies and over 500 process engineers and managers from all over Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Attending the Honeywell Users’ Group will provide the winners of the competition a wonderful opportunity to find out about the latest Honeywell developments, to make contacts within top companies and perhaps create an opportunity to meet potential employers.
Notice of intent: June 30, 2010
Final entry including abstract and presentation is due on or before August 30, 2010.

For those of you who are not in the final selection, or not participating in the student competition, but would still like to attend the 2010 Honeywell Users' Group Conference, Honeywell is offering you a steeply discounted special student rate which includes:
You are responsible for booking your own travel and accommodation. Please note, your flight and accommodation are not included in your conference registration fee.
If you win the competition, Honeywell will make all these arrangements for you.
The contest is open to any undergraduate or postgraduate university or technical high school student within Europe, the Middle East or Africa. Any student enrolled in an accredited college or university in Europe, the Middle East or Africa is eligible to enter the competition. Attendance certificates will be awarded to each winner (there will be no financial or monetary rewards). Each entry must be sponsored by a supervising or advising faculty member. This means that the faculty member reviews and approves the student’s entry before it is submitted to Honeywell. The faculty member should also affirm that the student wrote the paper him/herself. High points will be given to innovative and creative entries.
