HONEYWELL APPOINTS MEZIANE GHAOUI AS BUSINESS LEADER FOR NORTH AFRICA

Executive Brings Strong Local Knowledge and International Expertise to Key Regional Role

ALGIERS, Algeria, July 28, 2009 – Honeywell International Inc. (NYSE:HON) today announced the appointment of Meziane Ghaoui as business leader for Honeywell Process Solutions in North Africa. Ghaoui, based in Algiers, will help develop Honeywell’s business and presence in the region.

“North Africa has long been strategically important for Honeywell, with its abundance of natural resources and well-established oil and gas production and refining sectors.  We are now investing in growing our operations and service offering to meet local needs,” said Chris Dartnell, general manager, Southern region, Honeywell Process Solutions. “Meziane Ghaoui brings a wealth of local experience and know-how to Honeywell and will play a key role in advancing our strategic growth plans in Algeria and beyond.”

Ghaoui brings to Honeywell strong knowledge of the North African region and experience in operational and project management, sales and consulting. He previously worked for Areva T&D where he established the company’s first Automation Unit in Africa. Before Areva T&D, Ghaoui spent six years with Schneider Electric where he set up the firm’s operations in Eastern Algeria. Earlier, he launched the Automation Business for ABB in Algeria and served as Automation country manager.

Ghaoui graduated with a degree in Engineering (Automatic Control) from the Electronic Institute of Annaba University in Algeria and holds a Magister and a DEA degree in Industrial Control from the Electronic Institute at Batna University.

“Industry is developing at a rapid pace in Algeria and the rest of North Africa, making it the right time for Honeywell to strengthen its commitment to local companies,” said Ghaoui. “I am looking forward to working with our skilled and talented team to expand our scope of work with our existing customers and build Honeywell’s presence in the region.”
