HONEYWELL’S ANNUAL CHINA USERS GROUP FOCUSED ON IMPROVING BUSINESS PERFORMANCE FOR CUSTOMERS

Customers Share Best Practices, Technology Insights Regarding Energy Efficiency and Other Manufacturing Challenges

BEIJING, Nov. 13, 2008 – Energy efficiency, lifecycle management and industrial wireless technology were among the most widely discussed topics at Honeywell’s (NYSE: HON) annual China Users Group Symposium, held in late October. Many customers and process industry experts attended the three-day event, themed “Power to Perform.” The event featured focus groups, customer roundtables, demo-displays and more than 80 customer-driven educational sessions.

Customers from the oil and gas, petrochemicals, power generation, paper and pulp, mining and minerals, and other industries were among the attendees. Facing growing pressure from higher costs and limited resources, customers and Honeywell experts discussed how to apply advanced process control solutions to help improve overall plant safety, reliability and efficiency.

“The Honeywell Users Group forum provides a great opportunity to meet face-to-face with customers to exchange ideas and best practices,” said Desmond Teo, vice president and general manager, Asia Pacific, Honeywell Process Solutions. “The learnings from this event will help us design and manufacture the best products and solutions to meet our customers’ demands. It helps give them the power to grow.”

Other notable topics included Honeywell’s OneWireless industrial wireless mesh network solution, industrial security, blending solutions, terminal automation and the company’s expanding Enraf field instrumentation portfolio.

“Events such as the Honeywell Users Group Symposium are critical for developing new technologies and enhancing existing solutions,” said Harsh Chitale, vice president, strategy and global marketing, Honeywell Process Solutions. “The feedback we received from our customers last week will enable us to continue designing solutions that help them meet manufacturing challenges – everything from achieving energy efficiency and reducing raw material usage to implementing measures that protect employees from growing security threats.”
