Chinese Association of Automation Recognizes Honeywell for Solutions that Help Improve Business Performance Safely, Reliably and Efficiently
BEIJING, 09th July, 2008 — Honeywell (NYSE: HON) today announced the company was honored by the Chinese Association of Automation as one of 2007’s “Best 10 Automation Enterprises” during the association’s 2008 Chinese Automation Industries Event (CAIE). Honeywell’s Experion® Process Knowledge System application for Shenhua Baotou’s coal-to-olefin project also was honored as one of 2007’s “10 Most Influential Projects.” The awards recognize Honeywell’s commitment to help China’s industrial sector operate safely, reliably and efficiently, as well as address the global challenges of conserving energy and protecting the environment.
Highlights of Honeywell’s progress in China in 2007 include the opening of the global engineering service centre in Chongqing, increased installations of Experion PKS throughout the process industries, and the launch of Honeywell’s innovative OneWireless™ industrial wireless solution. In addition, Honeywell Process Solutions expanded its product portfolio and strengthened its life cycle management services.
Honeywell’s Experion PKS application in the world’s first coal-to-olefin project — Shenhua Group’s coal-to-olefins project in Baotou City, Inner Mongolia — was honored because the project met high standards concerning the automation of chemical processes. Honeywell Process Solutions delivered this project with the newest generation of process knowledge system solutions, which provided Shenhua Group advanced process control and helped Shenhua achieve exceptional reliability, safety and efficiency.
“The successful implementation of Shenhua’s Coal Chemical Project is essential to China’s energy strategy,” said Desmond Teo, VP of HPS Asia Pacific. “The current high price of oil and natural gas has made coal an attractive energy alternative. Honeywell’s implementation of advanced technology and control solutions for Shenhua demonstrated Honeywell’s dedication to China’s industrial sector and commitment to support China’s economic development.”
CAIE is an influential annual event in China’s automation industry. The event is designed to record and review every step of the China’s automation development, recognize individuals and enterprises for their great contributions, display innovative automation products in a comprehensive way, and thoroughly analyze industry solutions and applications.
