Q: Is Motor Control separate from the other process control functions of Experion? A. No. Motor Control is an integral part of the functions provided by the Experion system, utilizing standard point types, as well as the same engineering tools and display features as other control functions.
Q: Do Honeywell Motor Control functions completely replace the features of a typical physical motor control panel? A. Yes. The Experion system includes the capability to do motor control with standard functions and display templates. Standard logic blocks and configurable interlock/permissive inputs to Device Control blocks effectively replace existing relay logic and other devices. A standard Device Control display template provides an interface that mimics many physical panels, is familiar to operators and is easy to use.
Q: Does Experion connect well with PLCs? How about PLC-based Motor Control? A. Yes. Honeywell integrates peer-to-peer with Allen Bradley PLCs over ControlNet, and provides standard interfaces to practically all types of PLCs and PLC networks that exist today. Motor control implemented in PLCs can therefore be effectively integrated into the Experion system.
