Co-Generation Plants

Co-generation is simultaneous generation of heat and power. Co-generation plants have very high thermal efficiency. Co-generation is found to be feasible under the following circumstances:

  • Availability of steam consumers in neighborhood
  • Development or expansion of industrial, residential, or commercial facilities needing power, heating, and cooling
  • Replacement of old steam generators
  • Volatility of energy cost
  • Opportunities to sell power
